Beyond the Break (BTB) have been engaged to conduct Senior Leadership Training (SLT) for Esso Exploration Production Chad Incorporated (EEPCI) project. This project is multi-cultural, with 12 different nationalities and English as the main language spoken.

The SLT (2 days) is being conducted for each company within EEPCI involved in the Toumai 1 Rig start up. Sessions are organised and facilitated by Beyond the Break personnel (Craig Churches and Daniel McGinley), with presenters coming from EEPCI, FMC, GE, Schlumberger, Peschaud, and Saxon. Each SLT agenda is tailored to meet EEPCIs requirements and specific company training needs prior to the commencement of the Toumai 1 Rig operations.

Presentations have been well received by the participants with excellent interactions and discussions on important safety, safety tools and procedures. Language barriers necessitated the need to utilise translators for some presentations and has proven to be positive in achieving understanding of content.

The experience level of the participants varies, with some personnel having been working on the Kome site for up to 12 years. Discussions have targeted their current and previous roles within EEPCI and their respective companies. BTB has found most participants sound in their knowledge of Safety principles, tools and procedures, and they were willing to share lessons learnt from their experiences on the project which benefitted the group as a whole and provided interesting discussions.
